Lee is a great rebounder, solid low post threat, is still young, and would be our first legitimate starting 5 since Ben left.

Also maybe we could then look to dump Prince's contract next offseason, move Villanueva to the 3 spot, and then be able to make a max contract offer for one of the stud bigs available to pair with Lee.Michael Cnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13718554.post-11127352217701986102009-07-14T09:09:39.229-04:002009-07-14T09:09:39.229-04:00Michael C,

I know he put up some sweet lines last season but I'm hesitant to attribute too much of that to anything other than playing in Mike Dantoni's system. He's not a bad player but he would be the final piece to the puzzle moving forward. Would you be satisfied with that?Jakehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16208921021297172480noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13718554.post-2894984631811250512009-07-14T01:39:53.641-04:002009-07-14T01:39:53.641-04:00I agree. The Gordon signing just doesn't make sense without it.

If he is able to move Rip in a trade (possibly 3 way) for Boozer, David Lee, Tyson Chandler, Bosh, etc. that Gordon signing goes from awful to pretty damn good, as we'd basically be replacing Rip with a much younger and more dangerous scoring SG with a similar contract.

It just doesn't make sense to keep Rip and Gordon. We tried the two SG thing last year and it failed miserably. Plus it'd be blowing all of our cap room for this year and next on middle class free agents.

I'm hoping he already has a trade worked out and is just trying to get the cap numbers to work (possibly with the Afflalo / Sharpe salary dump) or is waiting a contract situation from the other team (with Utah and Millsap, the Knicks and Lee, or an extension with Bosh for example).

Bosh may be far fetched, but he'd be my hero for eternity if he pulled it off somehow. 3 firsts included? No problem! Most of the other possibilities would be big improves as well, though. Just whatever you do, don't sit tight now Joe ...Michael Cnoreply@blogger.com
